Reports reaching us indicate that a bomb has just gone off in the Obehira area of Okene, a town about an hour drive from the Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

The blast occured near the MPC filling station in the town.

The bomb, according to witnesses, was concealed in a parked black Rover car with registration number LKJ 919 AA. The car's boot is completely damaged.

We cannot confirm casualty at this point.

Although the police in the town could not be reached, a source said two people, believed to be non-natives have been arrested.

The National Emergency Management Agency has confirmed the explosion.

NEMA's spokesperson, Yushau Shuaibu, said in a statemen that no live was lost. He did not say whether anyone was injured.

He confirmed that two suspects were arrested by security agents before they could escape.
