Nigerian women have reacted angrily to the reports to a conducted survey by condom manufacturer, Durex, which ranked Nigerian women as the most unfaithful in the world.
Opinions and comments from Nigerians of both gender was unwelcoming and negative, questioning the yardstick or parameters on which the survey was conducted.
A Lagos Relationship & Guidance counsellor, Funke Coker-Benson reacting to the report queried the statistics and measures used by the researchers.
"When I saw it from a friend's Twitter feed, I dismissed it as a rumour or one of the arrant gossips of social media, but when I heard it on radio, I knew something somewhere was wrong and it’s a shame such a survey was conducted by an organisation like Durex" she said.
Meanwhile a medical practictioner at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Henry Okulaja had mixed feelings about the survey.
"There is a fast and growing rate in cases such as infidelty, abuses, marital clashes, divorces and so on and such report could be true as many men complain bitterly about unfaithfulness these days, what I just don't understand is where the 62% comes from, like I said it is fast growing and not that Nigerian women are that terrible" he said.
The Durex survey revealed that 62% of Nigerian women are most unfaithful putting it atop the list, while being followed by Thailand at 59%.
