Further findings by the Nigerian Tribune in the state revealed that over 8,000 families were displaced by the flood which affected seven local government areas of the state.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the affected local governments were Kiyawa, Ringim, Dutse, Hadejia, Gumel, Taura and Birninkudu, while there was threat in Auyo, Malam-madori, Miga and Guri local government areas.
The flood also destroyed over 2,000 hectares of farmland, livestock and other valuables worth millions of naira.
The flood occurred following a downpour experienced in the state throughout the month.
Among those who died in the flood were two middle-aged people, Sani Ibrahim Dangoli and Kabiru Adede; a woman and her one-year-old baby, all in Kiyawa council.
Confirming the development, the acting chairman of the council, Basiru Muhammed Maje, said the council had informed the state emergency and relief agency.
