"I am seeking a protection order against my husband because he is disturbing my peace. I don't know why he always forces me to go around and sleep with other men to get money from them when he is my husband. Recently, he told me to do so and when I refused he assaulted me. One of his friends, who was present actually stopped him from beating me up," said Regina.
She went on to tell the court that she wanted Joseph to be barred from physically, verbally or emotionally abusing her.
"I also want this court to stop him from insulting me with foul language in the presence of our kids or friends," she said.
Responding to the claims, Joseph told the court that Regina was the one who initiated conflict between them.
"I last started a fight with this woman in 201-. Since then she had been starting the violence by provoking me so I end up beating her up defending myself," he said.
The presiding magistrate granted the protection order in Regina's favour.
