Vanity Wonder appeared on ITV1′s This Morning today to reveal all about the horror procedure and how she now regrets ever having it done.
The mother-of-two told show hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford that when she first had the injections, she had no idea what was being pumped inside her.
She said: “The first two times that I went and got injected I don’t know what she used.
“She said she used soy bean oil, but in doing research and thinking back on it I don’t believe her. Every time after that I made sure that I had medical grade silicone.”
Talking about the dodgy back-street procedure, she said: “The first two times I went I had nine injections in each cheek, subsequently after that I was getting 120 in both cheeks.
“It feels like lightning, it’s a pain that seizes up your leg.
“It leaks as they’re doing it, so they seal it with super glue.”
The 30-year-old mum revealed that at first she hated the idea of having fillers injected in to your bottom to make it bigger.
She said: “The first time I heard about injections I thought that it was the most terrible thing that anybody could do, I thought it was really
stupid.”
But the former dancer said after watching many of her friends have it done she began wanting it too.
Vanity explained: “After being a year in that environment where everybody was doing it, and it wasn’t so much of a foreign concept as much as it was when I was first introduced to it, I was like, well I might as well try it.
“So I tried it and then after that it became a competition thing, not a competition for men, but a competition against other women. So many of us were doing it because we wanted to be better than the other person.”
Standing up to show off her grossly over-sized bum, Vanity revealed: “I’ve had butt and hip injections.”
And she added of why she was forced to go so large: “It was an obsession, it did become kind of addictive, but more so than that there was a point where it got infected, so I was left with all these lumps all over my butt, and I had a choice.
“I could stay with a medium-sized lumpy butt, that looked like a sack of oranges, or just keep padding it with silicone to make it bigger.
“It wasn’t my goal to get this big, but in trying to pad it to make it look better that’s what happened.”
Vanity said she does now wish her bum was smaller, but asked if she would be able to reverse it, she replied: “I don’t think so, I mean there may be technology that gets done later on, but see what has to happen is if the doctor goes and takes it out.
“He has to slice you and go in as deep as the silicone has, so a lot of times when they have to go in women are left with no bottom at all.”
Vanity has written a book, called Shot Girls, to lift the lid on the terrible consequences that can be involved with having the injections.
She said: “The last time I had injections was like May of 2011 … what made me stop is because I almost went to jail for it.
“A 70-year-old woman got really, really sick and was in a coma and they were trying to put me in jail, as I was making appointments for the woman who was doing the injections.”
She added: “It’s funny even having the infection didn’t make me stop, nothing made me stop until I was faced with losing my kids.
“But if I had have been smarter if I had of understood that an infection running through your body, these shots can take you away just as quick, and that’s what I want girls to know.
“Them injecting you, they can inject straight into a vein, and you’re done.”
